Syracuse’s women’s soccer program highlighted a standout achievement this week as junior goalkeeper Maya Naimoli was named the ACC Goalkeeper of the Week for games played between August 17 and August 24.
Her contributions included two clean sheets, a decisive 1‑0 victory over Northwestern on August 20 in which she made two critical saves, and a 3‑0 win against Princeton on August 23 where she recorded five stops.
Season Highlights
Through the early portion of the campaign she has played every minute of the 360 minutes logged, maintaining a 0.25 goals‑against average and a .929 save percentage, numbers that have helped the Orange to a 3‑0‑1 record and three shutouts to date.
Naimoli’s path to this moment includes a transfer from Youngstown State, two seasons at Episcopal Academy in Pennsylvania, and recognition as a third‑team All‑Horizon League selection last fall, all of which have set the stage for her current breakout.
