Nevertheless, the session was marred by a series of turnovers and penalties, issues that the coach said must be corrected before the season opener.
With roughly twenty practices remaining before the first game, the team is still in the early stages of installing its playbook, giving Viator ample time to fine‑tune both sides of the ball.
The coach emphasized the need for sharper execution, urging the Cowboys to tighten up and be more prepared for the upcoming match.
The Cowboys will reconvene next week for a second scrimmage at Navarre Stadium, a chance to build on the defensive foundations laid in the first session and to further refine their preparation.
