The Mid‑Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has once again highlighted the brilliance of its member schools with its latest set of weekly football honors, recognizing standout performances from several Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Weekly Honorees Shine

Howard University’s Ja’Shawn Scroggins earned Offensive Player of the Week after a commanding display that saw him throw for 322 yards and three touchdowns in a narrow 26‑24 win over Alabama A&M. On the other side of the ball, Rodney Roane Jr. was named Defensive Player of the Week, tallying six tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception that helped seal the same victory.

Additional recognitions went to Nelson Layne of North Carolina Central, who was celebrated as Rookie of the Week after contributing three touchdowns and 247 yards of offense against Texas Southern. Kiande Marsh of South Carolina State received Offensive Lineman of the Week honors for his near‑perfect 96% grade and nine pancake blocks in an 87‑0 triumph over Savannah State. Patrick Fisher‑Butler from Delaware State was acknowledged as Specialist of the Week after converting two field goals, including a 52‑yard effort, in a 41‑34 win over Stony Brook.

Other notable performances included Jordan Barnett of Morgan State, who surged for 114 rushing yards and a 22‑yard touchdown run against North Carolina A&T State, and Jaylin Terzado of Delaware State, who caught six passes for 149 yards and a score. Emari Green of South Carolina State added three tackles and a tackle for loss in the record‑setting shutout, while Tyler Leinberger of Norfolk State posted a 91% grade with seven pancake blocks in a 56‑0 victory over Winston‑Salem State.
