A Tough Road Test for the Mean Green
The Mean Green traveled to Dallas to meet SMU and came away with a 2-0 defeat, marking their first road test of the season. Both goals arrived after the 20th minute, leaving the team trailing for the remainder of the match.
Despite a modest 7-16 shot differential, the squad struggled to find rhythm. Goalkeeper Sarah Margaret Seabrook made six saves in her collegiate debut, while Mia Bernard’s attempt was blocked by SMU keeper Aubrey Brown.
Head coach John Hedlund praised the effort but stressed the need for greater aggression. He urged the players to be more decisive and take chances, especially when opportunities arise in the final third.
The Mean Green will return to Denton on Thursday night to host ULM, hoping to turn the tide and finish the week with a win in front of their home fans.
