At approximately 12:20 p.m., paramedics from the Liberty Fire Department arrived at the campus field and began treating the athlete, who was later transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
College officials had prepared for such contingencies, keeping an ambulance on standby for every home game, a measure that proved crucial when the incident unfolded during the noon kickoff.
Fort Lewis College confirmed the medical emergency on its official Facebook page just after 1 p.m., noting that the incident occurred on the William Jewell sideline and expressing concern for the player's wellbeing.
