Medomak Little League Falls to Waldo in District 2 Championship

Waldo advances to the state tournament after a 7‑4 victory over Medomak in the District 2 championship

District 2 Championship Recap

The Medomak Little League baseball team fell 7‑4 to Waldo in the District 2 championship game for the 8‑10 age division.

Waldo opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning and added a single in the second before pulling away with four runs in the fourth.

Medomak’s rally started in the fifth inning after Waldo’s starter Isaac Langan was removed due to a pitch‑count limit, allowing the Little Leaguers to cut into the deficit.

Garrett Sawyer led the Medomak offense with a double and two singles, while Zach Weston added a double and a single, and Ronin Michaud, Mark Bowen, Davey Lee and Marriner Herring each recorded a hit.

The combined pitching effort of Coltin Warner and Sawyer limited Waldo to seven hits and two walks while striking out nine batters, but the early lead proved decisive.

Waldo now advances to the state championship tournament, which begins on Friday, July 17 at Gordon Field in Rockland.
