Nestled in the leafy streets of Maspeth, Queens, the Metropolitan Oval has been a soccer landmark since 1925, making it the longest‑running soccer venue in the United States.
Originally built for semi‑professional clubs such as the German‑Hungarian Sport Club, the pitch has witnessed the footsteps of icons like Pelé and Carlos Alberto, and more recently, members of the U.S. National Team.

Future Stars in Training
In 1999, the nonprofit Metropolitan Oval Foundation intervened to prevent a redevelopment plan that would have erased the historic site, securing its preservation for community use.
Today, the foundation operates the Metropolitan Oval Academy, a training ground where young talents such as Yuva Narayan, Elijah Duah and Jac Lammers hone their skills with aspirations of professional contracts.
Edmond "Eddie" Andreski, who once played for the German‑Hungarian Sport Club, describes the venue as "magical" and a unique experience that blends sport with the energy of New York.
