A New Era for MIAA Football Broadcasts
The MIAA has confirmed that its flagship "Game of the Week on the Spot, Kansas City 38" will return for the 2026 season, bringing 13 live broadcasts to the Kansas City metro area. The partnership with Scripps News and its independent station KMCI will deliver the match‑ups to television screens across the region.
All ten MIAA football programs will appear somewhere in the 13‑week schedule, and at least one live telecast will originate from nine of the conference’s campuses, marking the first time the series reaches that breadth of locations.
Every contest will also be streamed live on The MIAA Network, the league’s official digital platform, ensuring that fans beyond the broadcast radius can follow the action in real time.
KMCI, known on‑air as "the Spot, Kansas City 38," is the sole independent station within the Scripps News Group and has been on the air since 1988, giving the partnership a long‑standing local presence.
Commissioner Mike Racy said he is thrilled to see the third year of this televised showcase, noting that the exposure helps the MIAA office connect with new audiences and potential supporters for its member institutions.
The schedule kicks off with Pittsburg State hosting the defending NCAA Division II champion Ferris State on Thursday, August 27 at 7 p.m., and later on October 24 the Gorillas will welcome Central Oklahoma for another featured game.
