The Miami Hurricanes are set to open their 2026 NCAA baseball tournament run on May 29, traveling to Gainesville, Florida, where they will meet Troy in the first round of the Gainesville Regional.
Under head coach J.D. Arteaga, the team boasts one of the nation’s most potent offenses, averaging 8.5 runs per game, and features standout talents such as All‑ACC catcher Alex Sosa and outfielder Derek Williams.
Key Return: Daniel Cuvet
Third baseman Daniel Cuvet, who has missed the past 15 games due to a back injury, is expected to rejoin the lineup, adding depth and power to a already formidable batting order.
Last season the Hurricanes posted a 38‑18 record, improving on a year that saw them upset Southern Miss and reach the super regionals. Their recent regional semifinal appearance marked the fourth time in five years they have advanced that far, and the program has not been to the College World Series since 2016.
The Gainesville Regional also includes host Florida and Rider from the Metro Atlantic Conference, setting up a competitive field that will test Miami’s depth and resilience as they chase a historic run.
