On a bright Saturday morning in Monona, Wisconsin, Micah Parsons, linebacker for the Green Bay Packers, opened a youth football camp that drew dozens of eager participants between the ages of six and sixteen.
Partnering with FlexWork Sports, Parsons guided the kids through a series of drills that emphasized proper technique, teamwork and the fundamentals of the game, while also weaving in lessons about respect on and off the field.
A Focus on Fundamentals and Sportsmanship
The camp’s curriculum was designed to build confidence as much as skill, giving each child a chance to handle the ball, practice proper tackling form and learn the value of sportsmanship in a supportive environment.
Parsons expressed how rewarding it was to see the youngsters light up when they grasped a new move, saying it was an honor to influence their belief in his abilities and in the sport itself.
The following day the same energy transferred to Greenfield, where another session of hands‑on coaching awaited a new group of aspiring athletes.
Beyond the drills, the event underscored the growing connection between professional players and their communities, showing how a single day on the field can leave a lasting imprint on the next generation.
