A Hall of Fame Legacy
Michael Peckham has been appointed associate coach for the Texas A&M International women's basketball program, joining forces with head coach Casey Fowler as the program looks to build on its recent momentum.
With a career that stretches across more than four decades, Peckham arrives with a résumé that includes stints at the University of North Carolina and the University of Wisconsin, where he helped teams compete in the ACC and Big Ten conferences.
His most recent role was at Lyon College, where he served as head coach in 2025 after two seasons as an assistant. Under his guidance the team captured the No. 1 overall seed at the 2024 USCAA National Championship and finished as national runner‑up.
During that same period the program advanced to the SLIAC Quarterfinals, a testament to Peckham's ability to elevate talent and strategy.
Across his extensive coaching journey he has compiled 857 career victories, mentored five USCAA All‑Americans, three Academic All‑Americans and five All‑Conference selections, and led nine different high school teams to state tournaments.
Peckham's induction into the University of North Carolina Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010 underscores the impact of his contributions, and he has appeared in the NCAA Division I Tournament on seven occasions.
Beyond the hardwood, he holds a master's degree in Athletic Administration from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Administration from the University of North Carolina, and he spent more than 20 years shaping athletic and wellness programs for the U.S. Department of Justice.
He and his wife Janet are parents to four daughters — Samantha, Kristen, Jaimison and the late Lexi Shea — and proud grandparents to five grandchildren.
