Michigan's 2026‑27 Big Ten slate unveiled
The Big Ten announced Michigan's conference matchups for the 2026‑27 season on Tuesday, laying out a schedule that blends traditional rivalries with a series of new challenges.
Michigan will meet Michigan State and Ohio State in home‑and‑home series, while also facing Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern, Oregon, Purdue and Washington on home courts. The Wolverines are set to play road‑only contests at Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin.
Exact game dates and times are expected to be released in September, following the conference's usual timetable for unveiling the full schedule.
The announcement comes on the heels of a historic season for Michigan, which captured the Big Ten regular‑season title by four games, posted a record 19 conference wins, and completed an undefeated road run in league play before winning the Big Ten tournament final and the national championship.
Ohio State's inclusion in the protected rivalries list was confirmed last year, cementing the Buckeyes as a permanent double‑play opponent for the Wolverines.
Among those named in the release are coach Dusty May, assistant Jake Diebler, player Winters Grady and support staff member Malick Kordel, who will help steer the team through the demanding slate.
Looking ahead
With the non‑conference portion of the schedule yet to be finalized, Michigan aims to defend its national crown while navigating a conference landscape that remains as competitive as ever.
