The Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association has released its all‑state baseball teams for all four divisions, spotlighting the top talent across the state.
Two standout players from Ubly made the cut, each earning recognition that reflects a season of impressive performances.
A Season of Excellence for Ubly Baseball
Collin Franzel was selected to the first team as a catcher, a testament to his .478 batting average, .561 on‑base percentage and 54 hits that helped the team score 52 runs.
Beyond the plate, Franzel’s defensive prowess and aggressive base‑running added a dynamic edge to his squad’s lineup.
T.J. Barnes, though listed with honorable mention, posted a .469 average, drove in 40 runs and pitched 30 innings, showcasing his versatility as both a hitter and a right‑hander.
Coach Jim Becker praised both athletes, highlighting Franzel’s exceptional base running and defensive skill behind the plate and Barnes’s contributions on the mound and at the plate.
The recognition underscores the growing strength of Ubly’s baseball program and sets a high bar for future seasons.
