A 22‑year‑old Michigan State University hockey player was killed early Saturday morning when his vehicle collided with a stopped tractor‑trailer on Interstate 95 in Caroline County, Virginia.
The Night of the Crash
Preston J. Korytkowski, a junior forward and team captain, struck the rear of a semi‑trailer that was parked on the right shoulder near the 115‑mile marker at approximately 3:40 a.m. The impact caused his car to overturn, resulting in his death at the scene.
The driver of the tractor‑trailer, who was alone at the time, sustained only minor injuries and was treated on site before being released.
