Schedule and Opening Test
Practice is slated to begin on August 6, with the season opener scheduled for September 7 against Toledo, giving the squad a clear timeline to implement Fitzgerald's plans.
Building Depth and Health
At the heart of the offense, quarterback Alessio Milivojevic will lead the attack, while transfer center Trent Fraley is expected to anchor the line. Fitzgerald noted that the offensive trenches could be among the deepest in the conference, citing guard Nick Sharpe and tackle Ben Murawski as key pieces, and highlighted the progress of versatile lineman Luka Vincic, who is recovering from a season‑ending knee injury.
Strength and conditioning have been a focal point of the new staff, and the implementation of NCAA rules that grant athletes a fifth year of eligibility is expected to accelerate the integration of freshmen. Senior wide receiver Rodney Bullard's eligibility for an additional season is still under review, and fourth‑year senior Jordan Hall may also return next year.
