The New York State Sportswriters Association has unveiled its large-school all-state girls basketball teams, and the Mid-Hudson region is well represented with fourteen athletes earning spots on the prestigious list.
Mid-Hudson’s Reach Across Divisions
Among the honorees, Ally Kaminsky from Roy C. Ketcham secured a fifth-team selection in Class AAA, while Marlboro’s Nalyah Campbell earned a fifth-team berth in Class A, highlighting the region’s depth across the state’s top tiers.
The association also named players of the year for each classification, with Julia Scott, Annabella Day and Ella Trinkaus each taking the top honor in their respective categories, a testament to their outstanding performances.
Additional standouts from the Mid-Hudson area include Titi Burden, Ellia Bailey and Bianka Velovic, who were placed on the Class AAA first team, and Anna Sonko, who earned a spot on the Class AA squad.
Honorable mentions round out the roster, as Amira Richards, Brook Matessino, Gianna Banks, Raia Allen and Sofi Pelish received recognition in Class AAA, while Logan VanZandt, Elena Magree and Za'Layni Hand were similarly acknowledged in Class A.
The association noted that the all-state selections for small schools — Classes B, C and D — are slated for release later, leaving the full picture of the season’s accolades still to be completed.
