All-State Soccer Honors Highlight Local Talent

The Mid-South Association of Independent Schools has released its All-State soccer teams, recognizing exceptional athletes from across the region. The announcement spotlights multiple standout players and coaches from Madison County, underscoring the area’s growing influence in youth soccer.

Christ Covenant School dominated the Class 1-3A selections, capturing the Player of the Year award for Mary Frances McGaugh and the Coach of the Year honor for Craig McCabe. Their team’s depth was further reflected as Eliza Grace Ethridge, Lorin Ezelle, Olivia Hembree and Avery McDonald earned All-State commendations.

Jackson Academy also shone, winning the Division I State championship and placing Izzy Scott among the elite as the 4A Player of the Year. Coach Phillip Buffington received the corresponding Coach of the Year accolade, while Ella King, Mylee Maurer and Avery Pickering rounded out the 4A All-State roster for the academy.

Additional local recognitions came from MRA and Jackson Prep, whose athletes were named to the 4A All-State team. MRA’s Presley Arnold, Blair Britt, Lucy Davis and Katelyn Edwards joined Jackson Prep’s Maggie Bailey, Meg Barbour, Caroline Blackwell, Anna Impastato and Morgan Marion on the honored list, illustrating the breadth of talent across the county.
