Middlesboro High School Appoints Alumni Alex Pratt and Jon Chadwell as New Coaches

Returning standout athletes take the helm of baseball and soccer programs

Return of Alumni to Coaching Staff

Middlesboro High School has named Alex Pratt as its new baseball head coach and Jon Chadwell as the head coach of the boys soccer team, bringing two former standout athletes back to lead the programs.

Pratt, a 2010 graduate of the school, earned a reputation as a dominant pitcher, collecting two‑time All‑District honors and being named SEKC Pitcher of the Year twice. After playing on scholarship at the University of the Cumberlands, he completed his studies at Lincoln Memorial University before returning to the district.

His coaching résumé includes stints as Middlesboro Middle School football coach and a previous tenure as the school’s baseball head coach, during which the team captured three district titles and reached the 13th Region Championship games on two occasions. Pratt said he is honored to lead the program and is eager to restore the baseball tradition of winning.

Chadwell, also a Middlesboro High School alumnus and former team captain, guided the soccer program to its first playoff victory in school history during his senior year. He now looks forward to investing in the soccer program and creating lasting experiences for the players.

Community Expectations and Future Goals

Fans and parents alike anticipate that the fresh leadership will translate into stronger seasons for both baseball and soccer, with hopes of deeper playoff runs and increased participation.
