MVP and Coach of the Year
Jacoby Dutchover of Midland High was crowned Most Valuable Player, capping a breakout year that saw him dominate both at the plate and on the mound. Meanwhile, Joshua Hulin, also from Midland High, earned Coach of the Year honors after guiding his squad to a remarkable campaign.
The accolades extend beyond individual awards. Aidyn Hatchock from Andrews led the Mustangs to a District 3‑4A title, while Matthew Madrid of Midland High captured the 2026 District 2‑6A Newcomer of the Year award. Isaac Montes from Greenwood served as the Rangers’ ace, finishing the season 8‑1 with a 2.32 ERA.
Nick Munt of Legacy posted a 6‑3 record, a 2.54 ERA and 41 strikeouts over 52.1 innings, underscoring his reliability in the rotation. On the offensive side, Reece King from Legacy batted .369 with four homers, 30 RBI and 17 steals, providing a potent sparkplug.
Beckam Whiteside of Greenwood hit .483 with two homers, 26 RBI and 42 hits, while Josiah Romero of Odessa Permian batted .352 with two homers, 16 RBI and 30 runs scored. Grayson Martindale from Andrews posted a .485 average with one homer, 25 RBI and 28 runs, and Evan Munoz helped Andrews to a 19‑11 record with a .431 average, two home runs and 31 RBI.
Additional standouts include Jaesean DeBouse of Andrews, who hit .438 with a home run, 33 runs scored and 32 hits, and Nate Mancha from Odessa High, who batted .410 with three homers, 22 RBI and 23 runs. Reece Watzl of Greenwood posted a .505 average with three homers, 28 RBI and 19 steals, while Parker Bullard of Midland Christian steered his team to a 20‑13‑1 record and a playoff berth.
The depth of talent is further highlighted by Crue Collie of Midland High, who tallied a .510 average, 48 runs scored and four triples, and Cole Wyatt of Forsan, who helped the Buffaloes win the District 5‑2A title and finish 22‑10. Together, these players illustrate a vibrant baseball landscape that promises continued excitement for the next season.
