Midway Coach Eddie Cornblum Exits Program
Eddie Cornblum, the longtime head coach of the Midway High baseball program, announced his departure during a team meeting on Tuesday, saying he had accepted another coaching position but offering no specifics about the new role or its start date.
Legacy of Success
Cornblum has overseen the program since 2016, guiding the team to a state championship in 2025 with a 6‑2 win over Atascocita and accumulating more than 400 victories in his nine‑year tenure.
Prior to his arrival at Midway, he served as head coach at Belton High School from 2008 to 2016 and spent several years as an assistant at both Belton and Temple high schools, building a reputation for player development and program consistency.
The announcement has sparked conversation among players, parents and alumni, who praised Cornblum’s impact on the program while speculating about the direction the team will take under new leadership.
