Testing the Limits in Jacksonville
The Seminoles arrived in Jacksonville for a preseason camp that doubled as a dress rehearsal for the challenges of playing away from Tallahassee. With a 0‑5 road record from the previous season hanging over the squad, head coach Mike Norvell organized a simulated game at the University of North Florida’s stadium to expose his players to unfamiliar surroundings and hostile crowds.
The first practice saw the defense dominate the scrimmage, shutting down the offense with aggressive pressure. The next day, however, the Seminoles’ attack answered back, moving the ball with purpose and connecting on contested catches. A second scrimmage is scheduled before the season opener against New Mexico State on August 29, 2025.
