The Miners boys basketball team recently transformed Park City High School into a bustling hub of activity, running a four‑day youth camp that attracted a lively cohort of fourth through ninth graders.
A Camp That Sets the Tone
Under the direction of head coach Drew Trost and a group of senior players, the camp blended intensive skill drills with competitive games, all for a modest $120 fee, and Trost said the energy on the court matched his expectations.
Trost, who spent more than a decade leading Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper before joining the Miners, took the opportunity to underscore the progress his squad has made during the offseason, highlighting both the work ethic of players like Mason Marchetti and the overall talent emerging from the younger ranks.
The camp’s schedule was packed with workouts, practice sessions and tournament‑style scrimmages, a busy slate that Trost believes will translate into a strong upcoming season, one that is slated to open in mid‑November with a series of non‑region matchups.
With a rising senior class that includes Koa King, Penn Larkin and Mason Marchetti, the Miners are poised to carry forward the momentum generated on the camp floor, a prospect that has the coaching staff excited about the road ahead.
