Minersville High School’s soccer program is riding the momentum of its first district championship, and this spring the eight graduating seniors are determined to translate that success into a league title. Coach Ed Burke has emphasized leadership and a positive atmosphere, urging the group to set standards that will guide future teams both on and off the field.
Leadership and culture
The offensive plan will lean on ball possession and speed, with Evan Handling and Chase Zimerofsky leading the forward line while Jordan Bowers, Aiden Ryan and Camden Rogers orchestrate play in midfield. Their combined goal production last season accounted for more than half of the team’s 91 goals, underscoring their scoring impact.
Defensively, Johnny Burgess is recognized as one of the program’s best, anchoring the back line alongside Dakota Dullard. Their partnership aims to preserve the solid foundation that helped the team secure the district crown.
The seniors’ ultimate targets are the Schuylkill League Championship and a repeat of the District 11 crown, goals they hope to achieve before graduation in June and the start of playoff preparations. Their focus on preparation now will shape the program’s culture for years to come.
