The Minisink Valley flag football squad posted a commanding 34‑6 win over Highland, extending a season that already includes a Class B championship from last year. The victory underscores the team’s resilience despite a roster reshaped by offseason graduations.
Freshman quarterback Kayla Cross was the offensive engine, delivering three touchdown passes, while Avery Wingen, Caitlyn Bellew, Ava Downing and Ava Semco each found the end zone. Their contributions highlighted a balanced attack that kept the Highland defense on its heels.
The win comes on the heels of a challenging offseason in which five starters on both sides of the ball from the 2025 championship team moved on. Yet the squad has maintained its momentum, blending fresh talent with the experience of returning players.
Honoring Educators
Continuing a cherished ‘Made an Impact’ tradition, each student‑athlete selected a teacher or staff member who had influenced them and presented a specially designed shirt as a token of appreciation. The gesture celebrated the mentorship and support that have shaped these young competitors.
