Twin Ports Youth Hockey Camps Ignite Growth
Minnesota Frost recently brought its hockey camps to the Twin Ports region, hosting 40 girls from the 12U and 15U age groups in Duluth, Proctor and Superior. The three‑day sessions combined on‑ice drills, scrimmages and a shootout, creating an environment where skill development felt natural and fun.
Maddy Christian, a recent draft pick from Penn State, led the on‑ice activities and used her own journey to show the campers that a future at the next level is within reach. Her presence turned the rink into a classroom of aspiration, as the girls visualized themselves following in her footsteps.
Nick Bryant, Frost’s director of team services, stressed that excellence on the ice is inseparable from integrity off it. He reminded participants that finding their niche and being good people are as vital as mastering a backhand, weaving character development into every drill.
By the final day, the girls were not only sharper in their skating and shooting but also more cohesive as a unit. They cheered each other on, sought autographs, and expressed excitement about becoming role models for the next generation of players.
The camps underscored a broader mission: using sport as a conduit for community engagement and personal development. In Duluth, Proctor and Superior, hockey became a catalyst for growth, linking athletic ambition with everyday values.
