Thirteen Minnesotans have earned invitations to the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Selection Camp, the first step toward a 23‑player Team USA roster that will defend its 2025 championship at the 2026 tournament in Edmonton, Alberta. The camp runs from July 23 to 27 in St. Paul, Minnesota, offering a concentrated environment for coaches to assess talent.
Leading the coaching staff is Reid Cashman, head coach of the U.S. Under‑18 Men’s Select Team, supported by assistants Todd Knott, Greg Rallo and Troy Thibodeau. Alex Westlund will serve as goaltending coach, while general manager Marc Boxer oversees roster decisions. Rod Braceful and Tony Gasparini contribute to player personnel evaluations.
Games at the upcoming tournament will be staged at Rogers Place and the Downtown Community Arena, venues that have previously hosted high‑profile international matchups. The 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup is scheduled for August 3‑8, where Team USA will meet seven other nations in a bid to retain the title.

Whitaker Rewertz comes from Hibbing, Nash Roed from White Bear Lake, and Joey Cullen from Moorhead. Each of these prospects represents a different corner of Minnesota, underscoring the state’s deep talent pool.
