The Minot North Sentinels have turned a modest debut into a statement of ambition. In just their second year as a varsity program, the team posted a 10‑win season, captured third place in the Western Dakota Association and set a clear target: a deep run in the state tournament.
Quarterfinal Showdown
On May 28 the Sentinels will meet Grand Forks Red River, a program with 16 previous state tournament appearances and two championship titles. The Red Raiders bring experience and a potent attack led by Addison Kotrba, Regan Hodny and Taylor Hodny, but they will have to contend with a Minot defense that has been among the most disciplined in the league.
At the heart of the Sentinels’ attack is Anistyn Perrin, who paced the squad with 20 points and 14 assists, while Julia Lewis, Kohlee Roberts, Morgan Orth and Brengiei Lonning have each added depth and versatility. Roberts’ game‑winning goal against crosstown rival Minot High highlighted the team’s clutch capability.
Between those offensive sparks, goalkeeper Camryn Guy has been a wall, posting 85 saves and limiting opponents to just 1.5 goals per game. His reliability has allowed the younger players to express themselves without fear of defensive lapses.
Coach Haris Bosnjak praised the squad’s focus and excitement, noting that the players have embraced the challenge of competing against a storied opponent. “We’re confident in our abilities,” he said, “and we’re ready to make this tournament our own.”
Looking Ahead
The Sentinels’ ultimate goal is a state title, a feat that would cement the program’s rapid rise. With a blend of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, Minot North enters the quarterfinal not just to participate but to contend.
