Minot State University is set to welcome four new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame next year, recognizing a blend of individual brilliance and team triumph that has shaped the campus sports narrative for decades.
Former football standout Carmen LoRe, who dazzled on the gridiron and the wrestling mat from 1965 to 1968, will be joined by longtime voice Scott Kittell, whose 40‑year broadcasting career has become synonymous with Minot State athletics. Assistant coach Gary Walhaug, celebrated for nearly two decades of mentorship on the women’s basketball staff, rounds out the individual honorees.
A Legacy of Excellence
The 2016 women’s soccer team, which captured the NSIC regular‑season title with a perfect 14‑0‑1 conference record and set numerous single‑season records, will also be enshrined, a testament to the program’s historic dominance.
Their inductions underscore the university’s commitment to celebrating not only victory on the scoreboard but also the character, perseverance, and community impact that define its athletic programs.
The ceremony will take place on September 18, 2026, on the Minot State campus, with a special halftime tribute during the Beavers’ Homecoming football game the following day. The banquet will bring together alumni, coaches, and fans to reflect on the lasting influence of these contributors.
