The Missoula PaddleHeads, a professional baseball team based in Montana, announced that their scheduled fireworks display will be postponed.
Stage 2 fire restrictions that took effect in Missoula on August 7, driven by heightened fire danger across the state, made the original August 8 evening display unsafe.
Safety Concerns Drive the Change
The team has now set the fireworks show for September 2, the same night that was originally earmarked for University of Montana Night, integrating the two events.
Fans who purchased tickets for the August 8 game will receive complimentary tickets for the new September 2 date as a gesture of appreciation.
Matt Ellis, President of the PaddleHeads, thanked the City of Missoula Fire Department for its role in the decision and emphasized the importance of safety for the community.
The rescheduling reflects a broader effort to balance entertainment with public safety, ensuring that the team can continue to bring events to Missoula residents while adhering to fire regulations.
