A 38-year-old resident of Vanzant, Missouri, now faces a slate of serious criminal accusations after an alleged confrontation that turned violent.
Legal Charges and Allegations
According to court filings, Wesley Sartor is charged with first-degree assault, third-degree elder abuse and armed criminal action stemming from an incident that began as a disagreement over a handwritten receipt for a vehicle repair.
Prosecutors say Sartor brandished a baseball bat, striking a fence post and the victim’s car, and then threatened the woman, demanding she leave his property.
The alleged victim told authorities that Sartor swung the bat toward her, heightening fears for her safety, while Sartor himself maintains he merely asked her to depart and did not make any threats.
Authorities have not released further details about a possible motive beyond the receipt dispute, but the case underscores how ordinary disagreements can spiral into criminal conduct.
