Philadelphia is buzzing as Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week unfolds across the city, drawing fans from every corner of the United States to celebrate the sport’s brightest stars.
A Celebration of History and Baseball
The centerpiece of the festivities was the All-Star Game Red Carpet, where top players strutted down a makeshift runway in front of Independence Hall, the backdrop of America’s founding documents.
The Philadelphia Phillies contributed six athletes to the game, which is being held at Citizens Bank Park, adding a hometown flavor to the showcase.
Fans arrived early, lining the streets with jerseys and signs, while families from Michigan, Utah, North Carolina and other states shared stories of their journeys.
Among them were Rosalie Zuppardo and Pat Clever, who traveled from Massachusetts and Long Island respectively, and the Tolman brothers, Jud and Jackson from Utah, who took in historic sites and cheesesteaks between games.
The event also features outdoor festivities, the All-Star Village at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and the Home Run Derby, turning the city into a vibrant marketplace of baseball culture.
Beyond the games, the week coincides with Philadelphia’s semiquicentennial celebrations, marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, weaving together sport, history, and community.
