A tribute steeped in memory
On September 19, 2024, Bristol Motor Speedway will host a special tribute race that marks the first time M&M’s has appeared in NASCAR since Kyle Busch left Joe Gibbs Racing in 2022. The event will showcase a No. 54 Toyota Camry painted in the brand’s signature colors, a livery that blends the iconic red and yellow with a collage of images from Busch’s career.
Ty Gibbs, a young driver mentored by the same team that helped Busch rise through the ranks, will take the wheel of the tribute car, giving fans a glimpse of the next generation behind the wheel of a car that once carried Busch’s name.
Samantha Busch, Kyle’s widow, described the ceremony as a deeply personal moment, saying that returning to Bristol without her husband feels like “bringing a piece of him back to the track he loved.” She highlighted the emotional weight of honoring a driver who amassed 63 Cup Series victories and eight wins at the half‑mile track.
The livery itself is a visual narrative, stitching together hundreds of photographs from Victory Lane celebrations, post‑race gatherings and key milestones, turning the car into a moving scrapbook of Busch’s legacy.
