Mobile County Sportsplex Expands with New Fields, Parking and Concessions

The recent upgrades aim to turn the facility into a regional hub for youth and adult sports.

A New Era for Local Sports

The Mobile County Sportsplex Soccer Complex in Alabama has grown from three to seven operational fields following the addition of four new lighted and sodded pitches.

Alongside the field expansion, the complex now features a second concession building and a parking lot that can accommodate roughly 300 vehicles, enhancing the visitor experience for leagues and tournaments.

These improvements are designed to support a variety of sports — including soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football and ultimate frisbee — by providing more space for practices, league play and competitive events.

The master plan envisions ten tournament‑quality fields and a championship field with seating for 2,000 spectators, positioning the site as a premier destination for regional competitions.

Situated on nearly 200 acres near the intersection of Interstates 10 and 65, the Sportsplex is being developed in phases by the Mobile County Commission, which sees the facility as a long‑term engine for community recreation and athletic tourism.
