The Moncks Corner All-Stars clinched the 2026 South Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball District 7 Coach Pitch Championship in a decisive game at Wescott Park on June 12, eliminating Parks Field to claim the title.
Their victory was highlighted by a strong offensive display that left little doubt about the team’s dominance, as they outscored Parks Field in the championship round.
The championship sets up a showdown with the Lake Marion All-Stars in the upcoming state tournament scheduled for June 26, where Moncks Corner will test its mettle against a new set of opponents.
Sportsmanship and State Tournament Outlook
Meanwhile, St. Paul's earned the Gary McJunkin Sportsmanship Award for exemplary conduct on the field, a recognition that will see them represent District 7 in the Division 2 state tournament.
St. Paul's will open that tournament against Cayce West Columbia, a matchup that promises competitive fireworks as the young players vie for a state title.
The broader District 7 Baseball Minors (AAA) tournament also kicked off on June 12, with Wescott Park, Mount Pleasant, and St. Andrews securing first‑round victories.
Those teams are slated to meet in the finals on June 17, a date that also marks the championship round of the District 7 Ozone Baseball tournament, which began earlier in the week at the Moncks Corner Recreation Department fields.
In the Ozone bracket, Parks Field, Hanahan, and Mt. Pleasant each recorded wins, while St. Andrews and Mt. Pleasant advanced to the winner’s bracket; Goose Creek was eliminated, and an elimination game featuring Moncks Corner, Hanahan, Parks Field, and Wescott is set for June 15.
With finals slated for June 17 across both the Ozone and Minors tournaments, the region’s baseball calendar is packed, underscoring a vibrant summer of youth competition in South Carolina.
