Victor Andersson, a junior forward for the Monmouth University men's soccer program, has been selected to the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason All‑Team, a distinction that underscores his role as a starter for the second consecutive season.
The Hawks enter the 2026 campaign with optimism after a 30‑point finish in the previous season, placing third in the CAA North Division behind Hofstra and Stony Brook, and they will look to build on that momentum.
Contributions from the likes of sophomore forward Jasen Bottini, who earned CAA Player of the Week honors for game‑winning goals, senior defender Raul Garcia, who anchored a defense that yielded just two goals in 14 matches, and rookie goalkeeper Herman Johnsen, whose 1.40 goals‑against average earned him CAA Rookie of the Week recognition, add depth to the squad.
The team’s schedule opens on August 20 at 7:00 p.m. against Iona, a matchup that will test the early chemistry of a roster that also includes sophomore defender Damian Taraska, recently listed on the TopDrawer Soccer Top 100 Freshmen List.
