Monmouth University’s men’s soccer team has been recognized with the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for the 2025‑26 season, highlighting the program’s dedication to scholarly achievement alongside athletic competition.
A Milestone for the Program
The award, which requires a composite team GPA of at least 3.0 across all roster members, was earned by the Hawks with a collective GPA of 3.43, underscoring a strong academic culture within the squad.
This honor is part of a broader trend, as 799 collegiate soccer programs — 336 men’s and 463 women’s — received the same distinction during the same period, reflecting a growing emphasis on academic performance across the sport.
Head coach Robert McCourt praised the players’ commitment, stating that “excellence in the classroom fuels confidence on the field” and that the team’s academic success is a source of pride for the university community.
