The Montana Elite Invitational, founded by former NBA forward Josh Huestis, has become a premier showcase for high school basketball talent across the state.
The free event, held in various venues throughout Montana, attracted dozens of boys and girls teams, each eager to catch the eye of college coaches who traveled to attend in person and via livestream.

Among the standout players, Reese Enderson of Billings West earned the girls' Most Valuable Player honor, while Miles Duda from CMR was crowned the boys' MVP, underscoring the depth of talent on display.
Coaches from a range of institutions, including representatives from Stanford University, used the opportunity to evaluate prospects, hoping to add several of these athletes to their upcoming recruiting classes.
Huestis, who previously played in the NBA, designed the invitational to give athletes from all types of schools — public, private and rural — a chance to be seen, regardless of their program’s resources.
Beyond the on‑court action, the event fostered connections among players, coaches and community members, creating a supportive network that extends beyond the final buzzer.
Looking ahead, Huestis plans to continue the invitational in future years, reiterating his belief that participation in college sports can profoundly influence a player’s personal development and educational journey.
