The Montgomery Advertiser has released its 2026 all‑area high school boys soccer teams, recognizing the standout players and coaches from across the River Region. The selections highlight a season filled with dramatic playoff runs and individual brilliance.
Player of the Year: A Star Emerges
Atticus Clements of Saint James was crowned Player of the Year after a season that saw him net 18 goals and add eight assists, guiding his team to the Final Four. His impact was felt both offensively and in the locker room, setting a high bar for his peers.
The first‑team lineup draws talent from a diverse set of schools, including Pike Road, Marbury, Saint James, Montgomery Academy, Montgomery Catholic and Prattville. Notable contributors such as Patricio Hernandez, Ryan Lavender and Jacob Stubblefield helped shape a competitive roster.
Coach of the Year: Leadership in Action
Bob Poling, also of Saint James, earned Coach of the Year honors after steering the Trojans to the semifinals, a run that underscored his strategic acumen and ability to rally his squad. His leadership was cited as a key factor in the team's deep playoff run.
