Montgomery Advertiser Announces 2026 Boys and Girls Soccer Players of the Year

Grady Ming and Kyleigh Harris honored after dominant seasons, while local standouts receive notable vote shares

The Montgomery Advertiser has revealed its 2026 Boys and Girls Soccer Players of the Year, an honor bestowed after a week‑long poll that ran from June 7 to 11 and was presented by the Vance Law Firm.

A Season Defined by Excellence

Grady Ming of Montgomery Academy emerged as the top vote‑getter in the boys category, capturing 50 percent of the ballots. Over the course of the season he logged more than 1,000 minutes, posted in excess of 190 saves and helped his side keep six shutouts.

On the girls side, Kyleigh Harris from Montgomery Catholic secured 53 percent of the votes. The goalkeeper allowed just 15 goals all season, recorded eight clean sheets and amassed 73 saves, earning her a spot on the 4A All‑State second team.

Other Notable Vote Getters

Pike Road’s Patricio Hernandez received 37 percent of the boys vote, while Marbury’s Amylia Rigdon earned 40 percent of the girls tally. Both players were among the season’s standout performers the week before the poll closed.

The recognition underscores the depth of talent across the region and highlights the role of community support in celebrating high school athletes.
