All‑Conference Honors Highlight Eagle Momentum
The Ohio Valley Conference recently released its all‑conference baseball selections, and the Morehead State Eagles celebrated a sweep of seven honorees. The recognitions underscore a season that featured a dramatic turnaround, adding 17 victories over the previous campaign and securing a spot in the upcoming tournament.
Sophomore Aubrey Kearns earned a place on the first team, leading the Eagles with a .383 batting average that ranked fourth in the league. He also drove in 58 runs, placed fifth in the conference, and posted a 1.087 OPS, positioning him eighth overall.
Junior Ian McCubbin joined Kearns on the first team, topping the roster with 13 home runs — tied for eighth in the conference — and contributing 55 runs batted in, a figure that also placed him eighth among league leaders.
Davis Germann and Caden Sheridan received second‑team accolades. Germann paced the team with a .341 average and led the squad with 18 doubles, while Sheridan started 49 games, threw out 21 base stealers and hit 12 home runs.
Freshmen Kyle Krupp, Nick Griffith and Connor Davis were named to the All‑Freshman team, adding depth to a program that finished the regular season at 31‑23 overall and 15‑12 in conference play.
The Eagles are slated to open the OVC Tournament against Southern Indiana, a game that will be streamed on ESPN+, underscoring the team’s rising profile and the momentum built by its recent successes.
