Morez Johnson Jr., the versatile forward who helped Michigan clinch its first national championship in decades, has declared that he will remain in the 2026 NBA Draft and will not use his remaining collegiate eligibility.
At the NBA combine, Johnson measured 6-foot-9 and 250 pounds with a 7-foot-3½ wingspan, numbers that immediately placed him among the most physically imposing prospects. His lane agility drill time ranked second among 26 forwards, underscoring his quickness for a player of his size.

Johnson also impressed in shooting drills, converting 17 of 25 three‑point attempts in the star‑shooting challenge and finishing second in the event. His shooting efficiency surged during his sophomore year, climbing from 61.8 percent to 78.2 percent at the free‑throw line, while his three‑point percentage rose to 34.3 percent after attempting his first college threes.
The forward finished the season as the team’s second‑leading scorer with 13.1 points per game and led the Wolverines with 7.3 rebounds per contest. He started every game, appeared in all 40 contests, and earned second‑team All‑Big Ten honors as well as a spot on the All‑Big Ten defensive team.
Analysts now project Johnson as a mid‑first‑round selection, noting his blend of size, athleticism, and improved shooting as qualities that could translate well to the next level. While no specific team has been linked publicly, the forward’s performance has generated considerable buzz among draft evaluators.
