Former Morgan State Bears have begun to make their mark on the international stage, with alumni finding prominent roles in professional basketball leagues across continents.
Troy Baxter Jr., a 2023 graduate, is currently playing for the Southern Districts Spartans in Australia’s NBL1 North division, where he is averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists over seven games.
A Global Tour of Talent
Stanley Davis Jr. has been a key contributor for the Edmonton Stingers in Canada’s Canadian Elite Basketball League, posting averages of 13.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals in nine appearances.
The Bears’ influence stretches even further, with former players competing in leagues from Lebanon’s DLBL to Slovenia’s OTP Banka Liga, Iceland’s Subway League, Romania’s Liga Nationala, Ireland’s Super League, Poland’s 1Liga, Cameroon’s Division II and Brazil’s top tier.
These performances underscore the effectiveness of Morgan State’s coaching staff and player development program, which has cultivated a pipeline of talent capable of adapting to diverse styles of play.
