Morocco Brown Takes the Reins of Wisconsin Badgers Football Program

Former NFL personnel chief brings a decade of executive experience to a team seeking a turnaround

A Strategic Hire for a Program in Transition

Wisconsin revealed that Morocco Brown will assume the role of general manager, charged with reshaping a football program that has struggled to compete at the highest level.

Brown arrives with a résumé that spans front‑office positions with the Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears, where he most recently served as chief personnel executive.

His career also includes a stint as director of college scouting in Indianapolis, vice‑president of player personnel for Cleveland, and director of pro personnel for Washington, giving him a broad perspective on both college and professional talent evaluation.

Brown has previously interviewed for six National Football League general manager openings, underscoring the league’s recognition of his expertise. The Badgers’ decision follows the departure of Marcus Sedberry, who held the position until February 2025.

The appointment is part of a broader effort to modernize the Badgers’ approach to roster construction and analytics, a shift that head coach Luke Fickell has been advocating for in recent seasons.
