A Brotherhood Built on Trust
The Moscow Blue Devils American Legion baseball team is more than a collection of players; it is a tightly knit brotherhood forged through years of friendship and shared experiences. Newcomers are quickly woven into a culture that prizes accountability, toughness, and mutual support.
Coach Tim Ogilvie, a veteran with over three decades of coaching experience, returns for his second season at the helm. He stresses that the team's cohesion is the engine driving their pursuit of excellence, insisting that mental resilience and life lessons are as vital as athletic skill.
Competing in a demanding schedule, the Devils hold a 15-11-1 record as July progresses. Their immediate objective is to finish first or second in their district, a milestone that would punch their ticket to the State tournament and validate the season’s hard work.
Beyond the scoreboard, Ogilvie and his staff — Hunter Redinger, Jacob Perry, and Levi Collett — focus on shaping young men of character. They aim to develop players who excel as sons, husbands, and fathers, using baseball as a vehicle for broader personal growth.
The coaching philosophy centers on continuous improvement. Each practice, each game, is viewed as an opportunity to refine skills, strengthen resolve, and deepen the bonds that unite the squad. This mindset, according to Ogilvie, is the true measure of success.
