A Strategic Overhaul
Head coach Antoine White has announced the full slate of assistants and support staff that will guide the Mount St. Mary's women's basketball program for the 2026‑27 season. The announcement comes as the team looks to build on a 15‑15 overall record and an 11‑9 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference from the previous year.
Returning for her ninth year, assistant coach Kelsey Funderburgh brings continuity and deep familiarity with the program's culture. Her experience has been a cornerstone for player development and scouting.
Maria McConnell, who previously served as a graduate assistant, has been promoted to a full‑time assistant role. Her ascent reflects the university's confidence in her strategic insights and recruitment acumen.
The new additions include Travis Crandall and Mia Andrews, both stepping into their first full‑time coaching positions. Crandall arrives after stints as a graduate assistant at Penn State and as an assistant at Magruder High School, while Andrews brings a background in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the CourtOps program.
Kendall McGruder joins the staff as the Director of Basketball Operations, overseeing logistics, analytics and day‑to‑day management. His previous contributions to conference championship runs at Magruder High School are expected to translate into operational efficiencies for the Mount.
Together, this blend of seasoned returnees, recent graduates, and fresh perspectives aims to propel the program forward, reinforcing recruiting pipelines and strengthening competitive depth as the team prepares for the upcoming schedule.
