Middle Tennessee State University celebrated a remarkable double honor as two of its senior athletes were named Conference USA Scholar Athletes of the Year.
Tyler Minnick, a senior from Smyrna, Georgia, received the accolade for baseball, boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA in business administration and a program‑record 43‑game on‑base streak, while also earning the Spirit of Service award for his community contributions.
Al‑Amin’s Tennis Triumph and Academic Accolades
Karim Al‑Amin, a senior from Walthrop, Germany, was recognized for men’s tennis after compiling 19 victories that helped the Blue Raiders secure their seventh consecutive Conference USA championship.
His academic excellence was underscored by the CUSA Academic Medal and a place on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, highlighting a blend of athletic and scholarly distinction.
Both recipients have been deeply engaged in service initiatives, organizing clinics and events that give back to their local communities, reinforcing the university’s commitment to developing well‑rounded leaders.
The university’s athletic director praised the awardees for embodying the spirit of excellence both on the field and in the classroom, noting that their achievements set a benchmark for future student‑athletes.
