A Fresh Surface for Inclusive Play
Murfreesboro’s Miracle Field, a dedicated space for special‑needs athletes, has just been resurfaced with a purpose‑built turf that promises safer, more reliable play. The new surface, installed by The Surfacing Group, replaces the previous pour‑in‑place rubber that had served the field since its 2017 opening.
According to Brittany Garrett, the upgrade means games can continue in light rain without the slip hazards of the old material, and the durability of the turf is expected to outlast its predecessor. The work was completed in time for the league’s opening day on August 21, 2026, just as 12 teams and roughly 130 participants gear up for competition.
Future Amenities on the Horizon
City officials have announced plans to add picnic tables, chairs, a new playground and a wheelchair‑adapted swing, further expanding the field’s accessibility and community appeal.
The field first opened in May 2017 alongside a tee‑ball field and playground, and the recent improvements build on that foundation, reinforcing Murfreesboro’s commitment to inclusive recreation.
