Murray State’s men’s basketball squad traveled to Paris for the latest stop of its European tour, where it faced off against a French national team that entered the matchup with little fanfare. The Racers left no doubt about the outcome, rolling to a 110-72 win that underscored their readiness for the next phase of the schedule.
A Tour-Defining Victory
From the opening tip, the Racers asserted control, outscoring France 27-5 in the first quarter and building a lead that would balloon to 62-25 by halftime. That early burst set the tone for a game that never truly felt competitive.
The team’s shooting was a major factor, finishing at 49 percent from the field and connecting on 14 of 39 three-point attempts for a 36 percent rate. The barrage of threes stretched the defense and opened up lanes for inside play.
Roman Domon paced the scoring with a game-high 24 points, shooting 53 percent from the field. He was complemented by Mathis Courbon, who added 15 points and knocked down three treys, while Kaden Magwood contributed 18 points and Ben Schtolzberg and Christian Jones chipped in 14 and 13 points respectively.
Beyond scoring, the Racers displayed a high level of ball movement, dishing out 25 assists and forcing France into 28 turnovers. Seven players recorded multiple steals, and the team finished with 19 steals while committing only 12 turnovers.
The victory marked the second-to-last contest of the tour, with a showdown against Poissy slated for the following day before the squad returns to the United States. The performance not only bolsters confidence but also provides a final tune-up ahead of the upcoming season.
