The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the recipients of its 2025‑26 Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, spotlighting programs and student‑athletes that have excelled in the classroom as well as on the hardwood.
These honors are reserved for men’s college basketball teams that posted a collective grade point average of at least 3.0 during the 2025‑26 academic year, while individual players earn a place on the Honors Court by finishing the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Eastern Washington University’s men’s program met the benchmark, securing the Team Academic Excellence Award after its roster collectively maintained a GPA above the required threshold.
Honors Court Recipients
The university also celebrated a notable accomplishment as eight of its student‑athletes earned spots on the NABC Honors Court, reflecting sustained academic performance alongside athletic commitments.
The recognized scholars — Alton Hamilton IV, Andrew Cook, Elijah Thomas, Emmett Marquardt, Jojo Anderson, Maddox Monson, Shaumba Ngoyi and Straton Rogers — join a growing list of Eagle alumni who have balanced rigorous scholarship with competitive basketball.
Beyond the campus, the achievement underscores the broader culture of academic excellence within the Big Sky Conference and aligns with the standards set by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, which continues to promote the integration of education and sport.
