Nadine Muzerall, the longtime head coach of Ohio State’s women’s hockey program, has been selected to lead Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Under‑18 Team for the 2026‑27 season.
The announcement comes as the program prepares for a pivotal series of events that will showcase the next generation of Canadian talent on the world stage.
Muzerall, a native of Streetsville, Ontario, brings more than a decade of collegiate success, including two national titles and three WCHA Final Faceoff championships, to her new international role.
Her appointment marks her first official head‑coaching position with Hockey Canada, though she previously served as an assistant and developmental coach with the organization’s U22 and U18 programs.
Selection Camp and Series
The selection camp for the National Women’s Under‑18 Team will be held from August 3 to 8 at the Richmond Olympic Oval in British Columbia, where 24 players will be evaluated.
Following the camp, Canada will face the United States in a three‑game series running from August 12 to 15 in Richmond, B.C., before traveling to the Czech Republic for the 2027 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship in Ostrava.
International Debut
This will be Muzerall’s inaugural head‑coaching assignment with Canada’s senior women’s programs, a milestone that reflects both her coaching pedigree and the trust placed in her by Hockey Canada.
The upcoming competitions will test her strategic acumen against top international rivals, and the experience is expected to shape the team’s preparation for future tournaments.
Fans and stakeholders alike are eager to see how Muzerall’s collegiate success translates to the international arena, where she will work alongside a roster of promising young athletes.
Looking Ahead
The 2026‑27 season will not only highlight Muzerall’s coaching capabilities but also serve as a critical stepping stone for Canada’s women’s hockey pipeline, aiming to maintain its competitive edge globally.
As the team assembles in Richmond and later competes in Ostrava, the blend of seasoned leadership and fresh talent promises an exciting showcase of skill and sportsmanship.
